Happy Counselor's Week to our incredible MCHS counselors! Thank you, Mrs. Acevedo and Mrs. Sanchez, for ALL that you do for our students and staff.

Kudos to Coach Rosales for being named this year's Teacher of the Year! Coach Rosales has been a part of our MCHS faculty since 2015.

We will host a parent meeting on February 12th at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria for all the parents of 8th grade students interested in attending MCHS for the 2019-2020 school year. The deadline for applications is March 1st. Our application is linked above.

The toy drive sponsored by the Sophomore Class was incredibly successful. Over 700 toys were collected and donated to four elementary schools: Cavazos, Waitz, Cantu and Alton Elementary. Our very own MCHS Santa Claus (thank you Mr. Floodine!) delivered the toys along with sophomore class officers and student volunteers who wrapped the toys. Thank you to all the MCHS community that came together to donate and make over 700 kids' Christmas more special.

Our Literary Club hosted a Grinch-themed Reader's Theater on December 19th after school. The club members took turns in reading the Dr. Seuss Christmas classic, brought Grinch inspired treats and enjoyed an evening of everything Grinch. They also distributed their new book club selection.

Senior and STC DEMSA student, Angela Guerrero, is honored as South Texas College's Student of the Week. Congratulations Angela! The Monitor's article is linked above.

Our sophomore class is hosting our annual toy drive benefiting children in our community. Over 1,000 toys were donated last year! Let's do it again and make someone's Christmas a little more merry and bright! Please donate a new, unwrapped toy before December 18th.

Over twenty-six families received a full Thanksgiving turkey dinner thanks to a very successful turkey/canned food drive sponsored by MCHS Freshmen Class. Thanks to all MCHS faculty, staff, student body and administration for making this a very successful food drive. Our Knights are always looking for opportunities to give back to our community!

MCHS Health Science Club will host our third annual Trunk or Treat on Halloween from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Wear your costume and join us for some safe, trick or treating!
