Rachel's Challenge at MCHS

On October 12th, MCHS staff and student body experienced a very intense, powerful and moving day. We learned about Rachel's Challenge, inspired by Rachel Joy Scott, Columbine victim. "It was life-changing," said Ycnan Casillas, freshman. MCHS was so inspired by Rachel's movement that we will implement a FOR (Friends of Rachel) Club chapter. The club's mission will be to put into practice everything they learned in the assembly and foster a permanent culture of kindness and compassion on their campus. "I HAVE THIS THEORY THAT IF ONE PERSON CAN GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO SHOW COMPASSION, THEN IT WILL START A CHAIN REACTION OF THE SAME. PEOPLE WILL NEVER KNOW HOW FAR A LITTLE KINDNESS CAN GO." -Rachel Joy Scott

Students signed the "I Accept Rachel's Challenge" banner and made a commitment
to live by Rachel's example of being compassionate, kind, positive and starting your own chain reaction.
