We had twelve teachers that made EVERY SINGLE day count this first semester! They will be receiving attendance incentive checks ranging from $375-$500. What an awesome start to the holidays!

Our Rho Kappa Chapter hosted a Veteran's Day program honoring Veterans from within the MCHS community. The event included a discussion panel that was completely student-led by Rho Kappa members. Thank you to all Veterans and in particular, the ones that joined us for this event: Arnoldo Martinez (Specialist 4th Class Army), Lucia Marquez (Staff Sergeant Marines), Bobby R. Hopper (E3 Air Force), Eduardo Garcia (E5 Sergeant) Dimas Alvarez (Army), and Jamie Salinas (Private PV2 Army).

Our Medical Health Science Club hosted its annual community "Trunk or Treat" this past October 31st. MCHS student clubs participated and represented their clubs proudly. The turn out was great and our neighboring community had a safe, fun place to "trick or treat" and celebrate Halloween.

Our Literary Club hosted its fifth annual "Edgar Allan Poe(try) Slam!" and it was a complete success. Students recited works ranging from Poe, to Queen song lyrics to their own, original poetry. It was a great literary event that served as an outlet for our creative Knights to express themselves.

Congratulations to the winners of the Door Decorating Contest for this year's Red Ribbon Week. In third place, Ms. Acuña's class, second place, Coach Rosales and in first place, Mr. Torres.

Senior, Anahi Molano, was honored at the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol “Head of the Class” awards ceremony. This is an award recognizing high school seniors who demonstrate exemplary character and determination to succeed. Click on the link above for more details.

Chelsie Barrientos, MCHS Class of 2018 Salutatorian and current UT Austin sophomore, has been selected to the Explore Microsoft program. This is a coveted, paid internship in Seattle that focuses on software engineering. For more info, click on the link above.

We are celebrating Red Ribbon Week at MCHS and want 100% participation from our student body and staff on the theme days!
